I was drawn into the story very quickly and couldn't put it down. There is something about telling background story in the was it was done in this book that I really don't like. There are two more volumes in this series. After the exceptionally well-crafted The Patient's Eyes: The Dark Beginnings of Sherlock Holmes, this second book of the 'Murder Rooms' trilogy is a slight let-down.
